The students of the school almost get into a riot due to the lack of coordination by the lecturers.

Due to the lack of creativity and innovation by the lecturers in the school they were not able to co-ordinate the students for their creativity test and the process the test was cancelled which make the student furious and began to through stones.

Student offering the course are over 5000 in which the capacity of the mini CVA is just 500, how do the lecturer want the entire student to write their test before 10am so that the 300 level students could make use of this same venue. Time allocated for the test is 15 minute per batch.

There is no possibility for all the student to write their test before 10am, I believe the lecturer should have make use the following venue in other to enable student to write their test:

ICT AUDITORIUM: 400 capacities
THM CENTRE: 120 capacities
CVA: at least 500 capacities
AUDITORIUM: 200 capacities. The total of all this capacity is 1220 which is going to contain the students and the test will have  been  done in 5 batches.

I will be happy if the student can make use of the above venue for their exam in other to prevent what happen today from resurfacing again

Adebola Williams: A Greatness Forged in Hopelessness and Despair

Naturally, the exploits of great men, when told, tend to be spurring. This time, however, I was more than inspired and motivated learning about and meeting this great individual at the Centre for Women in Abuja during the 2015 National Youth Reform Conference which had my organisation as a partner. I was a member of the planning committee at this event where Mr. Adebola Williams was a speaker. I must confess, I bloated with admiration at the personality of this simple yet sophisticated and awesome man. From my short encounter with this media mogul, I could boldly tell that Debola Williams is a personification of altruism. He is a selfless, charitable, and large-hearted man. Ever since then, I have always been his greatest admirer.

It was this kindled interest in Mr. Adebola Williams that glued me to my phone and patted me up when I slumbered off to listen to this man’s speech on the second and last day of the recent Obama Foundation leadership summit held in the United States. At this two-day summit, which kicked off on Wednesday, November 1 2017, a handful of speakers delivered wonderful speeches and a number of distinguished and promising youths stood by the lectern to tell inspiring stories of success. To keep track of this auspicious event, I sat up late at night and intently stared at my mobile screen following the trend of the event on Bellanaija. As beautiful as these speeches were, the breathtaking story of greatness which was kindled by hopelessness and fueled by despair, as told by Adebola Williams, unusually caught my attention. His thunderously applauded eight-minute-six-second speech at the event was expectedly engaging and extraordinarily inspiring. For anyone who listened to his speech, it was a narrative of how this ingenious young mind built an empire of hope for the hopeless African youths and how this empire has engaged more than thirty million youths in the past eleven years of its existence. Indeed, like Adebola Williams said, “In despair lies several opportunities; especially to be pioneer, especially to be great”.

After listening to the speech, I was forced to further re-think the opportunities that lie in the seemingly ‘god-forsaken Nigerian land’. It was amazingly inspiring to hear that at 18, Debola and his friends rose to the responsibility of converting the African youths' hopelessness and despair in government to a flourishing media business under the name RED – a social business that inspires young Africans to take social and political action through the power of storytelling.

Going through the chronicles of this rare genius’ life, I was most marveled learning that Debola and his friend, Chude started their business with zero capital. And by this, I am not saying that in a metaphoric sense - the prospering RED Media was literally kick started with #0 and it has never got a capital injection. This is incredible considering the fact that lack of fund or its inaccessibility is the foremost bottleneck to entrepreneurial success in this part of the world. At this point, my heart desired nothing than a mentoring session with this veteran entrepreneurs. I couldn’t be more surprised that the brains won the 2014 CNBC Young Business Leader of the year award.

At 31, Debola Williams is an uncommon greatness having scored unmatched points in the media profession, entrepreneurship, civic advocacy, and human capital development. At this relatively young age, he has co-founded Red Africa which houses The Future Awards Africa, Ynaija, and StateCraft Inc. In addition, this illustrious entrepreneur has founded the Lagos Business Transit and has chaired the Enough is Enough initiative. A Mandela Washington Fellow, Adebola Williams also boasts membership of the British Council Global Change maker and simultaneously sits on the board of Slum to School initiative. He is an uncommon embodiment of greatness.

More astonishingly, Debola Williams has made revolutionary and remarkable contributions to governance across Africa through his Political Communication Agency, StateCraft Inc. Owing to his media expertise and communication strategies that have worked wonders, he was described as ‘the man with the golden touch’ by the Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo having won the 2016 election through Demola’s campaign intiatives. This is not an exaggerated praise on the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the StateCraft Inc., Adebola Williams, who had also previously helped both President Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammad Buhari won the 2011 re-election and the 2015 elections respectively.

According to Martin L. King Jr., life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'what are you doing for others'. In a painstaking effort at answering this great question, Adebola Williams, forms a part of the award-wining Slum-to-School, an initiative that goes out to pick teens and youths from the wanderings on the street to a better and educated life in a school. He is a humanitarian par excellence.

Perhaps, one recurring factor in the narratives of great men and leaders is their quality training, rich knowledge, and intrinsic motivation. A probe into the formative years of this young African pride bore witness to this fact. Debola Lagos, as he is fondly called, has a rich educational background and training and a brilliant track record in entrepreneurship, advocacy, and activism. He read journalism at the prestigious London School of Journalism. Though he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, it is was pathetic and shocking to the young Williams when, at nine, he watched his family’s wealth vanished into the thin air before his eyes. Surprisingly, the young Debola took charge of his life and, at fifteen, started working.

For ages, the popular saying, ‘Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are’, has always been true and the case of Mr. Debola Williams is another proof. He wines and dines in the midst of equally great minds like his friend and business partner, Chude Jideonwo. Perez Tigidam of the Nerve has described this duo ‘as the Moses of the 21st century leading fellow youths out of a bleak socio-political and entrepreneurial past’. He (Debola) walks with Japheth Joshua Omojuwa, a prominent blogger, public speaker, socio-economic and political commentator, social media expert, and twitter warrior. And, he is a friend to Samson Itodo; one of Nigeria’s foremost youth think tanks on governance and citizens’ participation and the brain behind Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA).

With this brilliant track record in governance and advocacy, entrepreneurship, and humanitarianism, the entire team of Brain Builders International thinks it would not be over-ambitious to recommend this renowned, bright, smart, prudent, marvelous, inspiring, philanthropic, visionary, and exceptional Nigerian entrepreneur for a national award of recognition on contribution to nation building and human capital development. We believe that if something like merit exists in Nigeria of today, it should be conferred on exceptional minds like Adebola Williams.

Kwasu Student Union Election Time Table 2017

Greatest Gbagba!
Greatest GboGbo!!
Greatest Kwasite!!!

This begins the enchantments of Nigerian student union leaders and/or 'comrades' as they are referred to. Well, since I was in primary school, I've been hearing the statements and I have used them too. Unfortunately, I don't know how, where and when it all started. Worse still, I don't have a clue what the statement mean.

I'd love to know what the statements mean. I also want to know how, where and  when the phrases where first used. Finally, who are the people who first used them?

Jekayinoluwa Olabemiwo ~ J-k

MSSN Lagos state chapter pleads to FG

The Lagos chapter of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN ) has urged the government at all levels not to compromise the standard of education due to the economic recession confronting the country. .

‎The President of the MSSN, Lagos, Gbenga Ashafa, lamented that students are among those most affected by the economic recession in the country as many parents are struggling to pay school fees while students are striving to cope on different campuses.

He said, “The economic situation in the country is very tough and no doubt students are not finding it easy to survive and sustain themselves on various campuses. Also, many parents are currently finding it very difficult to pay the school fees of their children and provide other basic needs. .

“The teachers are not also spared; meeting up with the daily requirement has been a very difficult thing for them. .

“All these accumulate to our calls on government at all levels to ensure that the economic recession does not affect the standard of education. They should strive to ensure that the standard of education is not compromised. .

“Leaders at all levels must realise that education remains a golden asset for Nigeria and everything should be done to protect its standard.

“Allowing recession to affect the quality of education at primary, secondary or tertiary levels, is like digging the grave for innovation and building of great minds that will uplift Nigeria.”

Ashafa, therefore, advised that although times are hard, it is not an excuse for youth to delve into illegal practices.
“It is understandable that things are hard but that should not propel illegalities such as taking bribes, gambling, stealing, and deprivation of another person’s right because of money.

“At this period, parents and guardians need to step up the way they monitor their children,” he added.

Dr Alao, Nigeria's only Mc with a PhD celebrates birthday

Dr Ayotunde Alao is one of the greatest men Nigeria will experience in the history of Entertainment and Academics,What do you call a man who dared the world to become the youngest PhD holder in the field of Mass Communication in Nigeria at the age of twenty-nine (29)?
Someone who was hated by his lecturer and was told he would never make it in the mass communication field! Someone who rose from being an ordinary I.T student in AIT to becoming an artiste manager, MC and most interestingly now a lecturer?
He worked as a Television producer, radio producer, voice over artiste, actor, cameraman, editor, MC and choreographer. With the wealth of knowledge he has in the media field he left AIT Abuja when the money was supposed to be flowing in to take up a lecturing job. In 5years of working as a lecturer he has gathered about twelve (12) awards from the Redeemers University as the best lecturer in the university and his department consistently!
The one man that every student runs to in time of trouble and the only one that is so reliable that students confide in when every other person seems impossible! A man who has mentored great minds, produced great personalities as well as promote and groom talents in his students!
This man brought life to the boring nature of lecturing, his classes are always interesting and there is never a dull moment whenever he is around. His office is like a common room where students with all sort of complaints come in sober but leave smiling. Several times this man will buy food and students eat freely with him and he never looks down on anyone.

In the past five years, this great man has brightened the social life of the Redeemer’s university by bringing notable artistes like; Naeto C, Gbenga Adeyinka, Joke Silva, Senator Abike Dabira, Lekan Ogunbanwo, Ijeoma Onyeator, Jhybo, Cynthia Morgan, and a host of others to the institution. Kwara state University isn't out of the book as he brought Vector to the school and supervised the greatest entertainment group (360 entertainment) in the school.
He has also participated in various societal programmes such as engaging in the walk against cervical cancer, HIV/AIDS e.t.c.
He has also anchored almost all the major events organized by the university, including the university award/dinner night, series of university lectures as well as student events for free. This is one man who believes that making men is better than making money and it is evident in the fact that many of his students are out there doing well.
Bella on Inspiration fm presents with Dan Foster, Kome presents on Rhythm 93.7fm and one of the popular bloggers in Nigeria Kemi Filani are all evidence of the great result of the people he has trained and impacted knowledge into. I present to you a Lecturer with swag, class, and distinction, Dr Alao Ayotunde, the only MC I know in Nigeria with a PhD!.

Better fail then get Caught

I don't know the best way of putting these words together but I hope you will read and digest it's content in your own manner of contentment.
As examination is fast approaching,  students try different ways by which they can make good grades and be proud of themselves but individual brain by default can't be forced out of natural functionalities and for this reason some students explores other means of making good grades through cheating in the examination hall, cheating or any other name you give it is an act that is frowned at by all religions of the world except for streetism, the new religion that based it's injunctions on street orientations.  However,  tertiary institutions in Nigeria isn't taking it easy with such practices and therefore frowns at any student caught in this act.  From all of us at Campus Trybe,  we present to you a Spoken Word that preaches to you how convincing it is to fail than get caught in the act as it consequences is highly disheartening.  Sit back and enjoy the lyrics. And we wish you all the very best of luck as you smile to your examination hall.

Failure is not the 🔚, but rather a means to an unknown 🔚.
Failure exist for certain reasons you are liable to bend
Failure, if thoroughly studied can be easily amend
Better fail and pretend, than get caught and you 🔚
Not even an animal, for your failure will condemn.
But every living soul for a mischief will condemn.
Not even multiple failures can be the end, but getting caught is definitely a messy end.
Yeah, you never read a word from the library, pray, submit,  smile and pretend.
Or you breath so hard, sweat profusely, shivers and end.
How about those that cheat with confidence.
What!!  You are troubling with negligence.
I doubt your competence.

The Electric Fish

One day, as I watched the National Geographic Channel, I came to learn of the Fish called The *Electric Fish* for the first time.

Actual name is Electrophorus electricus. The fish is commonly found in the Amazon and generally in Fresh Waters. In the narration of the documentary, Electric Eels are mostly blind although they are not born blind.

To me they are such beautiful creatures and I was wondering how come they are blind? I then read about them and came to understand that these animals have three pairs of abdominal organs that produce electricity as a form of defensive mechanism against predators.

Whenever the animal is under attack, it activates an electric field of up to 860 Volts (that is nearly 4 times the 220V electricity supplied to our homes) to electrocute its attacker.

The Eel also requires rising to the surface of the water every 10 minutes in order to take in Oxygen before going back under the water.

Due to this routine, the fish has developed a mindset that it is vulnerable to attack due to constant coming up to breathe and hence it is always on a ‘suspicion mission’ – It is always and constantly electrocuting its environment even when it is not under attack.

The sad effect is that in the course of continuous electrocuting of its environment its eyes are also electrocuted and hence its blindness!
But then as I watched this animal swimming around blind and only using its sense of feel and ears, and been unable to see, it goes into more suspicion and every movement it feels in the waters, it releases further electric shocks worsening its plight;
The animal unfortunately goes into a cyclic paranoia and self infliction of pain causing it to be more blind irreversibly.
You see such is the situation in some people’s life. They suspect everybody and everything! They are always on a mindset of ‘someone is doing me’, ‘something evil is coming to happen to me’, ‘someone is planning to harm me’, etc.
By having this kind of mental picture such people release shock waves that electrocutes whoever comes near them. Friends who mean well, are branded enemies, parents are considered evil, siblings are suspected of hatching evil plots, work colleagues are branded enemies, etc.
When people go into such self-destruct mode, all they think about is themselves and not the feelings of others. The desire to protect ones self end up in not only hurting others but hurting oneself the more.

Let us all strive to cultivate a positive attitude of love. let brotherly love continue.

In other words, treat each other in a brotherly manner. Think and reflect about these things.
